Four Decades of Design
A new exhibit premiering this May at the Philadelphia Museum of Art celebrates forty years of Collab at the museum. Collab: Four Decades of Giving Modern and Contemporary Design opens on May 21st and will run through winter 2011 at the Collab Gallery located in the Perelman Building.
Founded in 1970 Collab is a collaboration of design professionals dedicated to enriching the museum’s collections of modern and contemporary design.
The exhibit is a survey of some of the highlights of Collab’s gifts to the museum over the last four decades. It not only emphasizes Collab’s contributions to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, but presents a chronological overview of modern and contemporary design in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
